Cleaning up and editing tri-meshes

When creating a 3D mesh, the following tools in the Tools button group of the 3D Mesh strip (model > 3D Mesh > Tools) help you clean up and edit your tri-meshes:

Structure Builder - The Structure Builder contains tools for cleaning up and improving tri-mesh boundaries and intersections, see:

Clearing intersections

Retracting tri-mesh intersections

Extending tri-meshes to other tri-meshes

Associating surfaces

QC - Use the QC button to remove thin, 'pointy' triangles, which can cause problems when creating 3D meshes, see:

Collapse flat triangles

Smoothing - You can smooth your tri-meshes to improve their quality by reducing the number nodes, refining the tri-meshes based on size or smoothing the surfaces, see:

Boundary - Under the Boundary button in the Tools section of the 3D Mesh strip you can simplify and smooth the tri-mesh boundaries. It is also possible to create a polyline set representation from a tri-mesh surface, see:

Smoothing boundaries

Ribbing tri-meshes

Removal - Under the Removal button in the Tools section of the 3D Mesh strip you can remove triangles and small patches from your tri-meshes, see:
